The Red Culture DREAM conference is coming to Des Moines on Feb 24-25. The conference is for children 4th-6th grade and will be $80 a person. This will include: One night at the Ramada Tropics Resort, 3 meals, t-shirt, indoor water park, great service and live music. This will be a great time for children to get to know each other and their God on a deeper level.

“Betty Is-Not-A-Crock” taught us another great recipe this week as she explained to the children that God has created us to become great. She made play dough because we can create great things out of a lump of clay.

Playdough Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 cup salt
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup water
2 Tablespoons oil
Ziploc bags
A few drops of food coloring
Directions:1. Mix all ingredients very well and store in plastic bag or covered jar.

Bread Pakoda

Ingredients:
4-5 Bread Slices
1cup Gram Flour (Besan)
1/4th tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp Ajwain
Red chili powder to taste
1/4th tsp Garam Masala powder
Water for batter
Oil for frying

How to make bread pakoda :• Cut Bread slices into desired shapes (like triangle, rectangle etc.)
• In a bowl add gram flour salt, chili powder, garam masala, ajwain and mix it.
• Now by pouring little water at a time make a smooth batter (neither too thick nor too lose)
• Heat oil in a kadhai.
• Dip bread piece in the batter and fry till crisp on medium flame.
• Serve bread pakora hot with green chutney and tomato sauce.

Set you’re Children on the Right Path: On Jan. 10th, we will start a new Wednesday night class dedicated to assisting parents in their God-given responsibility to spiritually leading their children daily down a spiritual path toward a successful future with God. This will be 1 seven-week class taught by Pastor Kevin.

As a Children’s Pastor, I have committed the last 21 years not just to reach children for Christ, but even more importantly, assisting parents in raising their children for God.

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” This is not the job of a paid church staff member … it is the responsibility of the parent. Children and Youth Pastors pay a important role in the spiritual growth of the of children; but that role primarily is supporting, equipping, and assisting parents in the enjoyable, but sometimes challenging, path.

The “Set You’re Children on the Right Path” is not another child discipline class or a magic formula to raise perfect kids, it is a class that will give parents the tools to begin to direct their children onto a path of spiritual success.

This week she talked to us about how God uses odd things to do great things, her recipe this week was Chocolate Sauerkraut Cupcakes.

Chocolate Sauerkraut Cupcake
Ingredients

• 3/4 cup drained and chopped sauerkraut
• 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
• 2/3 cup butter
• 1 3/4 cups packed light brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 2 eggs
• 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Sift cocoa, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together and set aside. In a separate small bowl, combine buttermilk with sauerkraut and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat in. Add flour mixture alternately with sauerkraut mixture. Beat only until blended.

3. Pour batter into 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. Cool cake and frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.

The Christmas Season is upon us and people are running hither and fither. This year stores even started black Friday sales on Thursday. The lights are going up all over town and the radio stations are changing over to the Christmas classics. So what is Christmas? I know the pad Christian answer, to celebrate our Saviors birth, but really what is it for? If you look back at Jewish feasts (Holidays) you will see a common theme and it is not to celebrate as much as it is to teach.
Christmas is our opportunity to pass down traditions that teach the next generation the truth of why Jesus our Savior came to this world. Our family has many Christmas traditions, ones that we started a few years ago that my oldest son came up with. We have a nativity that we place under the tree before any of the gifts. The key to the placing is that the manger is empty. I take baby Jesus and place Him in one of four identically wrapped boxes, one for each person of our family. On Christmas morning as we sit around the tree each person picks out one of those four boxes before any other gifts are opened. I take the last of the four to eliminate the appearance of cheating. We at that point talk about how the greatest gift ever given is Jesus. Each person opens their package and the one with Jesus inside is given the privilege of opening the first of the other gifts.

Final Day and all I can say is….Home Home at Last!
Only one snafu today and that was when I was going through customs in El Salvador to head out there seemed to be a problem. They requested my boarding pass and passport. This is not unusual but they kept on passing the passport back and forth until finally they said it was all fine and passed my passport back to me. That was not the problem. The problem came later when I went through security and then headed for my gate. When I went to grab my boarding pass and passport my boarding pass was gone. I could not even think straight. After searching my bag over and over I remembered that I handed it to customs and did not remember them giving it back. I then had to go back to security and try to explain through an interpreter that I needed to check with customs. During the whole ordeal the gentlemen from customs saw me and returned my boarding pass. All was good and I made my flight with time to spare.

Monday 6:10am

Yesterday was a great day.
We had over 250 children in church and many dedicated their lives to Jesus. We had a 3 hour children’s church, wow! Was that an experience.
We also went to the market to get souvenirs. It is always fun to barter. These people are pros. They all took note when the van full of Americans pulled in. I think the prices immediately rose. I really enjoyed it.
When we got back to the campus one of the guys was in the bathroom and when he turned the fan on, scales began to drop from the sky. He turned the fan off looked up and a iguana was looking down at him. We then took the fan cover off and things got real exciting for a bit. We then trapped him in a box and let him go. He ran away on his back two feet. He looked like a man running for his life. He was about two and a half feet long.
But my highlight of the day was only 10 min long but it was when I talked to Trudy on the phone for the first time during my stay here.
Today is our break day and we are moving to a nice hotel in the capital city. It is almost easy to forget that I am still in El Salvador. But I know that even though some in this city have fairly good lives, many in this country live in constant fear. See I have left these facts out until I was heading home, in order not to alarm my family. God’s protection is sufficient.
The gang problems in El Salvador are catastrophic and incomparable to anything we know in the US. States here have to pay the gangs in order not to suffer violence and the rates are going up. Someone is murdered every two hours in this country that is only the size of Massachusetts. The armed guards that we had on campus and are in every store are not there just for fun. They are fighting for lives. There is not a child here that has not seen death and knows that starvation is not their first worry but it is staying alive.
As we went to the market it was important what one to choose because there are some that only nationals Americans would not be safe.
God has more than kept us safe. None of the Castle Teams over the years have ever suffered violence. We serve a Big God and as we follow His will He keeps us safe in His arms.
I also met a boy today before I left the campus. His name is Melbeen and I have seen him around but had not had a chance to meet him. Melbeen was a real problem as a child. He was one of the boys that refused to stop pulling food from the campus garbage cans. He also was one of the first children in the feeding program. He has dedicated his life to Jesus but he also is now older than 9 so no longer can get food from the program. I am sure you will hear more about how we can get involved in helping fund the meal program in upcoming weeks.

We arrived at the beach about noon and I have been lazy there after. Walking on the beach, slept in the hammock, sleeping in the room, sleeping beside the pool. Man, I was needing that.

Good Morning from El Salvador!
We will be heading to church in about two hours and the whole team will participate. I will be drawing the same storyboard story of Jonah as I did on Fri. Everything is ready to go.
Today will be my last day with Alejandro and that is a little sad. I have really learned a lot from being dependent on an interpreter. I have to have full trust in him as I teach, preach or am just asking for him to help me get something done. I have to just believe that when I tell him to say something to the people that he will really say my words and not his own. When I ask him to get some people together and get something done that he will actually follow through and not get distracted. Alejandro has been very good but I have been wondering about me. How good of interpreter for God am I?
God has called each of us to be His interpreters. He depends on us to say what He is telling us to say. He has asked us to do His work but how often have we not been listening? How often have we got distracted and not followed through? As I begin a new Sunday I think on these things and ask God to forgive me for the past and give me power to succeed in the future.

We had a great outreach today with around 850 kids.
It started with an hour service and the alter call was done in their small groups to keep things organized and keep the kid’s praying with their own leaders. All the kid’s came with Castle churches and their outreach programs. Churches could only bring kids if they had a leader for every 7 kids. Some of the kids traveled 2 hours to get to the outreach. The busses were mostly chartered from private individuals and you should see these buses. One bus had mag wheels, custom paint and a spoiler.
7:30PM Sat.
After the service we had a carnival for them. I drew characters for two hours straight but it was a lot of fun. I did a few for area pastors and one pastor was picking on two others about how they looked as cartoons so when it was his turn he said he wanted to look good as a cartoon so I drew him as a woman. The pastors laughed all day about it.
When all the kid’s were gone we went sightseeing and it was great. Tomorrow we have a big kid’s service planned and then we will take it easy tell we fly out.

PS. Yesterday I heard something run above my head while teaching. I thought it was a big rat but found out today it was a iguana.

This has been the busiest day yet.
Got up early and prepped for the chapel I was assigned last night. Ate breakfast, did chapel, taught two classes, drew 42 pictures for children attending the food program, ate lunch, prepped four large drawings to draw during afternoon service, went to service and drew out a story while another team member told the story, ate dinner, cleaned up afternoon drawings Don had requested to give them to 4 of the national directors that are here and went to service. Service just got out. This is the first time I have sat other than meals but I am not complaining it has been amazing.

Wow what a day already.
I took a walk this morning and just saw all the unfinished visions. There is about 5 buildings that are partially done but due to finances and labor sometimes it can take 10 years to get it done. All the buildings that have been built have been done by short term missions trips. The prayer tower took 8 years to finish. It was done in 1998 and has had someone praying in it 24 7 ever since. What may have been done in prayer if it was done sooner?
They currently have a clinic half done and when it is it will be the only health clinic in over 50 miles. Even from where I stand that is frustrating. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to Don and Terri. But because of their patience there are completed buildings all over this campus that are enabling ministry to go on that never did before.
As I walked around I also had a chance to see some of the neighbors as they lined up to get water from the campus spout and haul it on their heads back up the hill to their homes. If they did not get it from there they would have to go another ¾ of a mile down the hill to the lake. They also need to get it in the morning because of the heat and at night they have no electricity to see.
2:30PM Thur.
We just had a meeting to cover the three services we have this weekend. We only have one more day of classes but then the weekend.
I will be drawing out the story of Jonah as someone else tells the story. It was interesting trying to set an order of service with 10 other children’s pastors.
Things are going well. I have done my drawing class so many times that Alejandro and I can do it in our sleep. I did have an unusual rash show up on both my wrist just before dinner. It was about a size of silver dollar on each wrist. By the time I went to bed it went from my wrists to my elbows. It has slowed down and I think it is just heat rash. If it does not get any worse I will just have it checked out when I get back. It is all good.

It is clear to me that I am going to be too busy to get much writing done during the day so getting up early is my only option.
Yesterday was crazy. Crazy good but still crazy. The schedule changes all the time so you just need to be ready. It is a good thing I was a RR and am ready for anything. I taught my first class and I was to have 42 people and instead I had over 60. I taught on making story boards and the use of drawing in ministry.
I had many students that are very talented and one lady came up after class and said with a tear in her eye, “I love to draw and never knew how I could use it for God.”
The students are from all over Latin America and are all Spanish speaking. A few of them know English and love to try it out on me. It is quiet fun.
Many of them could not have afforded the $100 registration fee so BGMC paid for most of them. 34 churches were able to pay for a member of their leadership team to come but the other 500+ needed BGMC support.
Just to let you know how much $100 is the minimum wage here is $200 a month. A lot of these students live in tin sheds with dirt floors but you would not know it. They are clean and happy.
Gangs are a huge problem in El Salvador (I will talk more about that when I get back) so they not only deal with poverty but violence is all around them.
The Castle has a feeding program 2 days a week for children 9 and under that are from very poor homes. They did this because children were getting hurt when they would sneak on campus and fight the wild dogs for food in the garbage cans. The need is so great that they only can help registered children from extreme poverty and no one over 9. After 9 the human brain is fully developed so even though they may go hungry at least they won’t have brain damage.
I know I have been a little graphic but it is hard not to be and still explain what I see.
About half of the students are under 18. Castle ministries train up children to disciple children as they become youth. It is amazing to talk to youth that grow up in this ministry and now are giving back as leaders in their churches.
The spirit of God is evident on campus and last night’s service was a amazing experience even though I could not understand much of it because it was in Spanish. The presence of God was evident.

I also will try to down load pictures of Don and Terry’s Speed the Light vehicles, one is new and one is 12 years old with over 300 thousand miles on it.

I am done with both of my classes for the day and things went great. Yesterday my drawing class was a challenge, mainly because I have not worked a lot with interpreters and the class is 1 ½ hours long. It is hard to know how much to prepare.
I have the same interpreter for all my classes all week. His name is Alejandro (pronounced Alehondro). He is from San Salvador and is a young man in the master’s commission here at Kings Castle. He is a real nice young man.
Today, our first class was ballooning and it was sooo much fun. Alejandro and I laughed the whole time. The class was once again packed and even the older students were having a great time making balloon animals and yes popping many. Alejandro and I would take turns pretending we got shot each time one popped. We have made a great connection and now even the drawing class is going smooth and is quite a lot of fun for all involved. We also have picked up a bit of a young fan club. The children of some of the students now are sitting in our classes and it does not seem to matter what the subject is or even if they have been in the class before.
It is great to see that the “church” is more than just one group in a building but is a body of believers that stretches across the globe and together we can reach the world.
Well, I went way to long today so I need to say good bye for now.

Good Morning

We were up very late last night so I am the first one up and I have snuck out and am sitting in part of the dorm that is not being used. Just so you know we are staying in a dorm much like camp but not quite as nice. The people are very friendly and willing to do anything for you but they have very little.
I sit here overlooking the lake as wild horses, dog, chicken, rabbits, and a stray goat or two roam the property. All but the horses and dogs will be eaten at one point. The dogs are for safety and the horses are for yard maintenance (they cut the grass and fertilize it at the same time).
As I sit here I am overwhelmed by what I am experiencing and the opportunity that is ahead. Today people will be arriving from all over Latin America. These are children’s leaders from all over that will learn from us and then go back to their countries and teach other leaders who then will teach children about Jesus. Sometimes the impact of what you do and say can be so much more then you may ever know. My prayer is today that every move and every word may be directed by God’s Spirit so that my time here may have the greatest impact possible for God’s Kingdom.
May that be all our prayers every day.

Day one in flight all morning.It was great to fly above the sea and just see a glimpse of how big this world is that God made for us. I sat next to a young lady that is from El Salvador and has lived in America for 11 years. She is going back for a week to celebrate Mother's Day with her grandma. It is Mothers Day in El Salvador today. It is always on the 10th of May no matter what day of the week it falls on.
It was great to talk about the country of El Salvador and it’s people.
I met up with the team at the airport then we traveled an hour into the city and had our first meal at Mc Donald’s. I took a picture of the delivery motorcycle. Mc Donald’s delivers in San Salvador.
We then went to a larger store to get snacks that was like a Walmart. They do not like making change. I had a $20 and they checked four registers before they could give me $13 change and it was a big store. We then drove another hour out of town and now are at Kings Castle. It is crazy because in the city people look like they live much like us but once you are out of town the shack homes are everywhere. I also took a picture of the church that is just some big tents that were purchased with BGMC money.
We are at the castle and it is a fenced compound that the missionaries run. There is even an armed guard at the compound. The students come in the morning. We have over 400 leaders coming.

Ok it is the night before and all is packed and ready to go.If all gose well I will board at 5:30 and be in El Salvador by lunch. I will then have a 2 hr drive to Kings Castle. Classes do not start till Tuesday Morning. I can't wait.

Our JBQ team went to Regionals in MN this weekend.JBQ team consisted of Peter, Kaitie, Gideon and Gabriel. They all did a great job! They came in 10th place out of 15 teams. SBQ team came in 1st place and can move on to Nationals in Detroit. We are so proud of them!!

Faith Promise giving makes us channels of blessing. In His covenant with Abraham, God said that through Abraham's descendants, "all peoples of the earth would be blessed."

Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

Faith Promise giving is a way of handing on the blessing.

1) Faith Promise giving is more than one can afford.

2 Corinthians 8:2-3, “Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,”

2) Faith Promise giving reflects our personal commitments.

II Corinthians 8:5 “5And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will".

3) Though Faith Promise giving is optional, it does clearly demonstrate our love *

*Philippians 2:4 “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

*Romans 12:9-10 “9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Action steps:

1) This week we talked about Faith Promises. I would enocourage you to look at my blog post on “Kids Faith Promses” and discuss it with you child(ren).

2) Take your child’s Faith Promise Card and pray over it with them each day this week and help them fill it out by Sunday so they can turn it in.

3) Your child received a book entitled “55 ways to earn money for missions” last week. Have them look through it and think of some things he or she could do to reach their goal.

Dear Parents,

January 31st will be our Children’s Ministries 2010 BGMC kick off.

BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) is the missions program for kids. BGMC is used to supply our missionaries with whatever they need to spread the gospel around the world. Missionaries LOVE BGMC because it is so flexible with the kinds of supplies they can buy.

Did you know that kids can make faith promises for missions? Every year adults are challenged with how much to pledge for missions, but the kids also need to be challenged.

Kids can make faith promises for BGMC! They can hear God's voice and then follow His leading in how much they should pledge to missions and how to earn the money to fulfill that pledge. What a wonderful opportunity it has been to see children sacrificially giving to missions through BGMC. When children make faith promises, God expands their heart for the world. The entire time that the kids are working to earn money for missions, they are realizing that they are helping to reach the lost around the world. This has an everlasting impact on a child.

What is a faith promise?

A faith promise is a goal or a pledge that is set between the child and God. This goal is set for one year. They are to do their best to raise this amount of money. The easiest way is to divide that amount by eleven months so that a monthly goal is established. The child is then to try to raise that amount each month. That amount becomes their monthly pledge. Encourage the kids to pray, to work, and to do their best to meet this pledge. It will become exciting to see how God helps them in ways they never expected. Remember, this is a pledge, but it's not something that HAS to be met. Kids are to do their best, but they are not to feel bad if they don't make it. Don't pressure the kids, encourage them! BGMC offering will be taken on the first Sunday of each month and the Filling Station staff will help them track their giving in their personal bank book. They also will receive a goal poster to take home and post in a prominent place so they can remember their goal and pray for our missionaries.

How does a child decide what his/her faith promise pledge should be?

Encourage the child to pray and ask God what is it that he/she should pledge for missions. Remember that God will lead them and direct them. Some kids will try to earn $5 to $10 per month. Others will earn less and others will earn more. There are Faith Promise cards available in The Filling Station so you can fill them out together and turn them in on Jan. 31st.

Listen to these testimonies:

· One girl earned $800 baking dinner rolls and selling them.

· One girl earned $600 baking and selling chocolate chip cookies.

· Two kids worked together and sold pop at sporting events in a park. They earned $500.

· One family collected pop bottles and raised a lot of money for BGMC!

The Challenge:

February 7th will be our first BGMC Sunday of the year and we will take our first offering at that time. Feb. 7th offering is designated to go to Haiti relief.

Please note that this is not about money as much as it is involving children in missions and allowing them to gain a heart for the great commission.

2) God has no Limitations

Psalm 50:1 “The Lord, the Mighty One, is God,and he has spoken; he has summoned all humanity from where the sun rises to where it sets.”

3) As children of God we have no limitations.

Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ,[a] who gives me strength.”

4) We must envision a life without limitations in order to do the extraordinary for God.

Ephesians 3:16-17 “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.”

Action steps:

1) This week we talked about thinking BIG for God and let Him show you what you can do. I would encourage you to talk to your child further about the children in Haiti and how they may be able to help.

2) Your child received a book entitled “55 ways to earn money for missions”. This is a great resource for children that are gaining a heart for missions. It also has a section on faith promises and we will be talking about that next week so it would be a great springboard to read through that with them.

Don't Be A Snowman. Be The Real Thing

Christmas in Brazil

We are to be seed planters.

This month we are looking at Christmas around the world as we focus on what we can do to be a part of God’s commission. This week we focused on Brazil and how each one of us should be spreading seeds of God’s truth to all those we know. We took a look at the parable of the seed and the sower in Luke 8:5-15.

Our Memory Verse was: Luke 10:2-3a “He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you.”

The Point: Lets plant some seeds

1) It is God’s desire that every person in the world may know Him.

Timmothy 2:3-4 "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

2) As followers of Jesus we are to be His workers in the fields of this world.

Luke 10:2 “He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

3) A worker will harvest no fruit without planting seed. We must plant seeds of truth in the hearts of people we know.

Luke 10:3 “"On your way! But be careful—this is hazardous work. You're like lambs in a wolf pack."

Action steps:

1) Your child made an ornament in class today. Ask them what they remember about Christmas in Brazil. Then have them pray for those in Brazil as they put the ornament on the tree.

The Point: God wants to take care of all your needs

1) God has all the good gifts. Philippians 4:19 "My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

2) God wants to give you the good gifts you need. James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.”

3) Remember the first two points and don’t worry. Matthew 6:25-34 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Action steps:

1) I would encourage you to have your child make a list that they are thankful for and post it on the refrigerator on the days leading up to Christmas. Being thankful is a year around attitude and will help put Christmas in perspective.

Connecting with Kids

Today was Pastor Appreciation Day at Sully Christian School.

Cheyenne & Christine Nikkel attend SCS and invited us to come and be a part of their morning, along with the other pastors and their wives from the community who have children from their church that go to SCS. We were even able to have lunch with Cheyenne and Christine. What a fun time it was eating with them and getting to know their friends. Thank you girls for inviting us!! We are truly blessed to be a part of Berean and the Children's Ministry there.

This month we are looking at the many things we should thank God for and this week we are thanking God for wanting to be our best friend. Our Bible story was about the love God had for the Israelites and how He was always there no matter where they were or what they were doing.

Our Memory Verse was: Proverbs 18:24 “There is a friend who sticks closer than a

The Point: God wants to be your friend

1) God want to be closer than a brother

Proverbs 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

2) God is that friend that will always be there for you and will never leave you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

3) God desire you to also be a faithful friend that is committed to Him.

James 4:4-6 “You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "he's a fiercely jealous lover." And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that "God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble."

Action steps:

1) Again, I would encourage you share with your child personal experiences when God was with you even during hard times. These stories can really help children apply the principle of trusting in God.

2) Talk to your child about areas in their life that they need to give up to God that they may be a better friend to Him.

But the story turns out to be essential for telling the complete story of God's ways among us. The widow, Ruth was the great grandmother of David and ancestor of Jesus. The book of Ruth makes it possible for each of us to understand ourselves, however ordinary or out of the ordinary, as irreplaceable in the full telling of God's story. We count-every last one of us-and what we do counts!
WHAT TALENT DO YOU HAVE: If you ask Zach, he might say, I have a talent for knowing when his room is messy. I would say I have a talent of bringing people together. I love to entertain and have fellowship gatherings.
ONE THING THE LORD HAS DONE FOR YOU: In the last few months, He has shown me many things. One is how to really rely on Him and trust in Him. Recently my mother had to have surgery (at age 79). At the same time my sister was diagnosed with cancer and started treatments. In trusting and fully believing in Him, has given me opportunities not only to minister to my family but has also stretched my faith. No matter the circumstance praise Him. His presence is with you.

3) God can only guide you to a great life if you will follow Him not with the crowd.

Every once and a while I get a chance to make a kids day at their school.Today Saylee made my day. Saylee is one of our kindergarteners in The Filling Station and she asked me to be a mystery reader in her class at school. It was so much fun to go to a class full of kid’s with many of them having no idea what a Children’s Pastor is. This was a great opportunity to read to them a great book and explain what it was that I do. Not to mention just giving me a chance to make them smile.
I would encourage anyone to find ways to volunteer in their areas schools. It is a great way to show the children of your community the love of God maybe not by words but by action.
